Dear Friends,

I am very happy to report that I have just heard from John Potter, the Executive Director at the Phipps, and the Drama Council met Tuesday night and agreed to let us proceed with the organization of a live orchestra.

This is largely due to the overwhelmingly positive response to the plan that they received from all of you.  Your support, both verbally and financially, has made this possible.

Natalie Peterson will be the Orchestra Director and Lynn Paulson will be the Vocal Director.  We are also hoping to bring Debbie Clapp on board as the Pit Manager.  When we have met and had time to figure out a budget, I will get back to John Potter, and see what the process will be for bringing in the pledges.  I do know that the Phipps is a non-profit organization, so any donation you make will be tax-deductible.

Auditions for the cast are still several months away (early September), but it is never too early to start “beating the bushes”.  I would love nothing more than to have a large number of familiar faces in the group at the first rehearsal.
