I am also designing scenery and lighting, and consulting on a production of “Dear Edwina” for the Mahtomedi Middle School, which will be staged at Mahtomedi High School, Mahtomedi, MN. This production opens this Thursday, March 5, and runs through Saturday, March 7.

Mahtomedi High School inMahtomedi, MN is blessed with a theatre complex, called the Chautauqua Center for the Fine Arts, that most schools can only dream of.

Mahtomedi High School in Mahtomedi, MN, is blessed with a theatre complex that would be the envy of most schools, and even some colleges. It is called the Chautauqua Center for the Fine Arts.

The facility houses two theatres, both fully equipped, one a proscenium style, and one a state of the art black box theatre.

Other than that, this complex is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when administrators and school districts design for the needs of the theatre first. Any theatre can serve as a multi-function auditorium. Very few multi-function auditoriums make good theatres.
